In Italy

The first phase of the project will see 36 young people from 14 foreign countries represented in the Regional Council of Calabrians Abroad take a traveling Italian language and culture course.

The students will be accompanied by seven students from the University of Calabria, a writer, a photographer and a painter.

Traveling on a bus, students will stop in 20 different Calabrian villages to discover the regional cultural, tourism and production heritage that contributes to the creation of a positive image of Calabria.

The 28-day event will be the subject of a documentary film about the initiative, which will become a promoter of Calabrian-ness around the world.

It is also planned to publish a book, a photo exhibition, a painting exhibition and to carry out a series of statistical, anthropological and cultural studies conducted in collaboration with the Department of Humanities (DISU) and Department of Business and Legal Sciences (DiScAG) of the University of Calabria.

At each stop – in collaboration with the participating host municipality, – the group (called Crew) will have the opportunity to meet with young people and local experts who will help to learn about the local artistic, cultural and landscape heritage as well as representatives of the best companies in the local production sector.

During the itinerary, students will meet with representatives of institutions, entities and successful entrepreneurs in Calabria, involving public and private entities, universities and businesses in a series of events, meetings, conferences, interviews and in-depth studies.
