VISIT OF PARAGUAY’S LABOR MINISTER TO CALABRIA

On Tuesday, September 22, at the Santa Severina Castle, as part of the conference “Pythagoras Mundus Program – Italy-Paraguay Cooperation: paths to new opportunities,” a meeting was held to present the Republic of Paraguay’s membership in the Pythagoras Mundus Program.
The event was attended by His Excellency DON GUILLERMO SOSA FLORES – MINISTER OF LABOUR of the Republic of Paraguay .
Thanks to the collaboration between the Region of Calabria, the Municipality of Santa Severina, the Municipality of Crotone, the Province of Crotone, the Chamber of Commerce of Crotone and the IIS “Pertini-Santoni” of Crotone, the conference saw the signing of an agreement between ISCAPI and the Minister of Paraguay regarding the participation in the Pitagora Mundus program of 20 students and 10 teachers from Paraguay for A.S. 2016.
The Paraguayan students who will participate in the Program in Crotone will stay in Santa Severina and study at IIS “Pertini-Santoni,” participating intensively in internship tracks at companies selected by the Crotone Chamber of Commerce.
The event was preceded on Monday, September 21, also at the Santa Severina Castle, by the welcome ceremony, in the presence of Calabria Region Councillor Federica Roccisano, who brought greetings from President Mario Oliverio.
On Tuesday afternoon, the minister visited the “IIS Pertini-Santoni” and attended a meeting at the Chamber of Commerce with the president and Crotone businesses.
“Pythagoras Mundus” is an Academic and Cultural Exchange Program created by the Calabrian Institute of International Policy (Is.Ca.P.I.), in collaboration with the Education Department of the Calabria Region and the Regional School Office.
The main objective of the Program is the result of cooperation among various countries around the world in the pursuit of continuous improvement of living conditions, economic growth, social and gender equity, and long-term ecological sustainability, in order to promote critical thinking through the implementation of specialized and professional courses.
The training program is predominantly based on an international student exchange taking shape within a number of Calabrian municipalities, the “Wisdom Villages,” with membership from several countries around the World.
