The Pythagoras Mundus Program in effect proposes a different model of systemic local development in harmony with and oriented toward the knowledge economy principles of the Lisbon Strategy, the principles of the so-called Bruges-Copenhagen process and the goals of Europe 2020 . The support of the various actors involved, substantiated through contributions of different kinds, magnitudes and consistencies (of a financial nature, provision of services and advice, logistical support etc.) make it possible to offer scholarships to foreign state or sub-state governments willing, as mentioned above, to co-finance the program in order to offer such an opportunity to young students from their own countries. [/cryout-column] [/cryout-multi] While this ensures substantial sustainability for the program, it simultaneously allows for the gradual creation of a vast connective network among different institutions that place the growth, education and training of young people at the center, which, through a common European educational matrix, at the same time allows them to engage with Italian and foreign peers, participants in the same program and from different countries, often from different continents, with different cultures, languages, religions and social backgrounds of belonging.
