MedPOL PLATFORM
– Development Area –
The MedPol Platform focuses on job placement and business creation.
It provides collaboration
in the conception, design and implementation of exchange, promotion and consulting initiatives in the fields of trade, small and medium-sized enterprises, operating in high technology and research, tourism, the environment, alternative energy, fashion and design, hunting and fishing, construction and mechanics, and handicrafts and agribusiness.
The network pursues the goal of sustainable and balanced territorial development through strengthening cohesion (economic, social, territorial), shrewd enhancement of natural and cultural resources, and improvement of regional competitiveness.
Special attention is paid to the integrated enhancement of inadequately recognized local potentials; the development of strategic tools for urban and territorial planning and management; the integrated enhancement of rural areas; the development and strengthening of territorial systems and integrated functional areas; the enhancement of territorial cultural resources; and the implementation of integrated regional development programs, with special attention to lagging regions and areas affected by structural crises.
The MedPol Platform also encourages and promotes:
Development and technological innovation in the international arena in socio-economic fields;
The dissemination of new public policies based on the idea of inclusive innovation
Training internships at local companies and institutions;
trade between network countries;
the exchange of public and private administrators and subjects related to international education and cooperation;
The exchange of Ambassadors or foreign economic and political representatives;
initiatives that propose educational offerings closely related to actions aimed at enhancing the socio-economic, historical-cultural and landscape characteristics of the territories to which they belong (e.g., summer courses, winter courses, internships, tourist-cultural routes, etc.);
The ‘conception, design and implementation of international cooperation initiatives;
technological innovation and internationalization of enterprises.
In this context, IsCaPI proposes the “Wisdom Villages” model, a model pioneered within the Pythagoras Mundus international secondary school student exchange program.
This exchange project was activated at some Calabrian municipalities in order to foster, promote and develop cultural relations between the Region of Calabria and foreign countries, through relations with public and private entities, enabling them to promote relations of peace, friendship and equality; of socio-cultural, educational and scientific exchanges, training stages at companies and institutions, along with trade exchanges and artistic performances, music, exhibitions, fairs, twinning and joint programs with visits and exchanges of public and private administrators and subjects related to international training and cooperation.
