
The start was natural: Belvedere, the home of the agreement. At City Hall, City Council President Maria Rachele Filicetti welcomed the team led by Rania M.A. Mageed (Head of International Office, May University in Cairo), joined by Omar Mohamed Mahmoud Abdelrazik (International Office).
President Salvatore La Porta and Fabrizia Arcuri, IsCaPI’s national public relations manager, were there, keeping agenda, stakeholders and logistics together throughout the week-the perfect direction when the territory is asked to team up.

First operational academic session at theUniversity of Calabria dedicated to double degrees, structured mobility and joint research in the clusters of medicine, economics, applied sciences and international relations. he following day a discussion was held with UNIMED – Union of Mediterranean Universities for the multilateral framing of the partnership. In the same setting, a meeting was held with the Rector of the University of Calabria, Prof. Nicola Leone, for a high-profile alignment on governance, thematic areas and implementation timeline.
At Confapi Calabria, the event “Skills for the Future – Training and Business between Italy and Egypt” consolidated the connection with the productive fabric.

Operational comparison at theUniversity of Tuscia, coordinated by Prof. Stefano Speranza (Director of International Relations Division), on sustainable agriculture, environmental management, enhancement of cultural heritage and intercultural dialogue, with start of planning for bilateral summer schools, joint workshops and integrated training paths.
Closing of the mission at Gamian Consulting (renewable energy, agro-photovoltaics) with the signing of a Letter of Intent triangulating university-institutions-business on thematic workshops, internship and exchange programs, applied research and technology transfer, particularly on sustainable energy transition andyouth entrepreneurship.

The week confirmed the validity of the IsCaPI-May University MoU framework in Cairo (Belvedere, March) and produced the Letter of Intent with Gamian Consulting.
IsCaPI announced the upcoming trilateral operating memorandum between May University in Cairo, University of Calabria and Università degli Studi della Tuscia, aimed at the activation of international summer campuses, dual degree pathways, joint workshops and structured academic mobility, with progressive inclusion of the partnership in UNIMED networks.
By hosting the May University mission in Cairo, IsCaPI turned the Belvedere understanding into concrete implementation, involving territorial institutions, universities and businesses in a coordinated way. Calabria is confirmed as the diplomatic and academic platform of the Mediterranean area. With the trilateral being defined and the UNIMED framework under construction, the pathway enters the scalable implementation phase, with clear governance, measurable goals and delivery schedule.
